Conflict Is Airborne. (lyrics)

Are you gonna hear me out or
are we done now?
I’ve been listening to you for hours
and honestly I’m over it
Don’t mean no disrespect, oh do know
that I’m still open
But we can’t take back what’s been said
and now it’s all a bunch of nothing

Yeah don’t you think it’s time
That we call it a night?

Help me draw a line between us
I don’t want to fight and seems like
If you stay on your side and I on mine
we can smile and pretend that it’s all fine

You told me you’re way too tired
to find solutions
so we sit on the bed in silence
and listen to the noise in our heads
I know the good book says don’t let the
sun set on anger
I was never allowed to question but why then
does anger wait for lights out?

Yeah don’t you think it’s time
that we call it a night?

Help me draw a line between us
I don’t want to fight and seems like
if you stay on your side and I on mine
we can smile and pretend that it’s all fine

What wishful thinking
it’s never simple
and I’ve heard conflict is airborne
A foul disease
I can feel it festering
in my lunges
Where did the oxygen go?
Oh it’s never been simple
and I’ve heard this thing is airborne
A foul disease
I can feel it festering
in my lunges, oh God
Remind me to breathe
Gotta remember how to breathe deep
Remind me how to breathe you in
and breathe this thing out

If we draw a line between us
I know we won’t fight but seems like
if you stay on your side and I on mine
we’ll build a wall we won’t be able to climb

I wrote the verses for this one two days ago while in the shower (I’m convinced the bathroom is some kind of creative portal) and I performed it, along with 5 other songs, at a fun little outdoor show last night. I could have picked any older song of mine but I guess I have a thing for sharing the latest. Keeps things exciting, you know?
