I’ve never done a post like this before but it was so sweet of Poorwa over at https://atlaswebdesigns.design.blog/ to nominate me that I couldn’t resist. Please do check out her blog too! She’s a super fun, sweet girl and is so, SO much more consistent with this blogging thing than I will probably ever be haha.
Anyway, here’s how it works:
The Sunshine Blogger Award is a peer-recognition award, where bloggers can nominate the bloggers who are super creative, inspire them to grow, and bring positivity to the blogging community.
- Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
- Answer the 11 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
- Nominate 11 people and ask them 11 questions.
- Notify the nominees by commenting on one of their posts.
- List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award image in your post.
Okay, so I’m going to be quite the rule breaker here. I haven’t actually gotten to know that many people on here yet so there’s no way I can nominate 11 bloggers without just randomly picking some and violating my conscience in the process, so I won’t. BUT I decided to instead create new questions and just go right ahead and nominate all of you! I figured you can use them as a prompt if you like, or just as the perfect excuse to get to talk about yourself a little. I’m pretty sure we all like to do that every once in a while.
Now that that’s out of the way; here are Poorwa’s questions, with my answers!
- What is your blog about?
I would say my blog is a landing place for creative thought and imaginings.
2. Your favorite food and color.
Man, I’m way too indecisive for these “your favourite” questions. Always have been. I’m someone who notoriously sees and considers all angles and options before I make a decision and, even when I do, I can rarely narrow it down to just one. There’s just too many aspects of the matter to take into consideration, you know?
Take the “favourite colour”, for example. Favorite colour on what? Clothes? The sky? Interior? Just to name a few. I also tend to be drawn to certain combinations of colours rather than just one colour on it’s own, which unfortunately further complicates this issue we’re now facing. But oh well, I’ll do my best.
If we’re talking clothes (on me), I will most likely go for something mustard yellow, combined with blue jeans. A warm yellow always makes me feel bright and happy inside, and I really like how the blue compliments it. I’m wearing a mustard coloured sweater and light blue Levi’s as we speak. Oh, I really like faded red too! Feels like just the right amount of bold.
Favourite colour combination out in nature is blue hour by the ocean. Right when the sun has set and the sky turns into soft pink cotton candy and the water goes from dark and mysterious to an inviting pale blue. If I’m painting I will also most likely pick some variation of these two. (But see, I couldn’t just go proclaiming pink and blue are my favourite colours because then I would have to reluctantly receive socks and t-shirts and the like in pink and baby blue for every birthday and Christmas, and I could never wear all that without looking like I’m constantly on my way home from a gender reveal that surprisingly also revealed that the baby was in fact babIES- a boy and a girl. Which apparently in our society means pink and blue. Go figure.)
Food is a bit easier, but I still rotate between a couple different answers depending on day and mood. But both smoked salmon and lasagna will always make the cut.
3. What inspires you the most?
Again, so many things, but I’ll keep it short. Music, art, books and movies, being out in nature, meaningful conversations. Life. Everything really. I tend to find connections and inspiration pretty my wherever I look.
4. Your favorite post you’ve published on your blog.
Again a “favourite” questions, which resulted in me going back and skimming through half of my old posts. I think I narrowed it down to two short stories: The children and The bench. Writing this I still can’t help but feel like I forgot about a really good one and that baby is now sitting in a corner somewhere, pouting over my negligence.
5. What would you do after the end of pandemic?
I can’t wait to travel again! This has been the longest time I’ve been in one place for years and my bones now have a real itch for adventure.
6. What scares you the most?
Wow, we’re getting deep. Alright. What scares me the most right now is probably ending up alone, and never actually getting to do all the things I dream of doing but only having my fear of failure to blame for it.
And changing so much that I completely lose who I once was.
7. Are you a morning or night person?
I think mornings have a slight lead here.
8. Your favorite school subject.
Well, I’m studying music production right now so I basically only have one subject on repeat. But I absolutely love it!
9. Do you talk to yourself? If yes.. then tell us if you want.
I always thought everyone did but I recently found out that there are in fact a number of people that have never in their life had an internal dialogue. Isn’t that crazy? Life would be so quiet.
But to answer your question: YES. All. The. Time. In several different languages two, sometimes in the same sentence. (Any other bi/trilinguals out there?)
My mind is a wild place to be.
10. Have 2020 changed you somehow?
I have changed so much this year I’m basically constantly coming in and out of a decent sized identity crisis, but that’s not just thanks to 2020 being what it’s been. All the other changes just decided it was a good idea to hop on the corona bandwagon, just to make sure this year didn’t get too uneventful.
11. The happiest moment you ever had on wordpress?
This might not count as one moment (or maybe it is one that just keeps repeating itself) but whenever I press “publish” on a piece of writing I am really proud of and had a lot of fun creating. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love that people actually care to read it, but the act of creating will always be it’s own reward.
Never seem to be able to get simple answers out of me. Cud’s to you if you made it this far.
Now it’s your turn!
- What is one artist or band you’ve been really into recently?
- If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
- What’s a really fun part of being you? What’s challenging?
- What’s one unique thing about you?
- Do you have any odd skills?
- What’s one thing this year has taught you?
- What’s a wild dream you have?
- Watched any good movies recently?
- Any good books?
- What’s one dish you associate with Christmas?
- What was something you loved to do as a kid?
Alright, that’s 11. Now go crazy, and if you decide to post your answers, please let me know so that I can come check them out. Have fun!
