One of the reasons why I started this blog in the first place was to have a place to share my art. I love watching what others have created, but what makes it so much more fascinating is hearing the stories behind the work. The meaning. Because art is always trying to communicate something. I do think that a picture is worth a thousand words, but when a picture is accompanied with words it says even more.
When it comes to the Chronicles of Narnia, Lucy Pevencie is one of my favourite caracters. Her child like faith is inspiring, and her relationship with Aslan is simply beautiful. She goes where no one else goes, and believes when no one else believes. She never looses hope. She is quick to forgive and she always sees the gold inside of everyone she meets. She trusts Aslan no matter what and she is always expecting him to show up. Not only does she know and experience that he loves and cares for her, but she also gives him that same honest affection in return. She is the one that gets really close to his heart.
She thinks that she is not brave enough to do what she is called to do, yet he calls her the valiant. The brave. He is calling forth her true identity, who she really is. She just doesn’t know it yet.
“I wish I was braver.”
“If you were any braver, you would be a lioness.”
